KARACHI: Customs Intelligence conducted an operation and successfully thwarted an attempt to evade Rs 27.5 million in taxes through under-invoicing the import of edible oil, News reported on Monday.

According to the details, the customs intelligence conducted a tip-off operation against Food Links International in Karachi and caught the tax evasion of Rs 27.5 million.

The customs intelligence document revealed that the edible oil that was imported from Indonesia was evading tax through under-invoicing.

The customs officials revealed that the private company was also found guilty of transaction cash through Hawala/Hundi network for the import of edible oil, however, a case has been filed against the culprits.
