Drafting ceremony of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season has started, teams will select their favorite players for the event.
The event for the selection of players in the eighth season of PSL has started in Karachi, the players drafting ceremony is being broadcasted on ASports and ARYZip.
The players’ draft ceremony is underway in Karachi, where teams will select local and foreign players to complete their 18-man squads.
517 foreign and 491 Pakistani players are registered in the draft.
Before the draft, PSL franchises have retained their best players in the squad while releasing a few players to be picked by other teams.
Karachi Kings
Karachi Kings will see Imad Wasim captain, Haider Ali, Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Amir, Sharjeel Khan, Mir Hamza, Aamir Yameen and Qasim Akram in action.
Kings have selected Australia’s Matthew Wade in the first round of the platinum category.
Karachi Kings have selected James Vince in the diamond category while James Fuller has also been selected.
In the gold category, the Kings have included Australian fast bowler Andrew Tye in their team. In the silver category one, the kings have chosen Tayyab Tahir and in the silver two, the wicketkeeper batsman of Central Punjab, Mohammad Akhlaq.
In the emerging category, Karachi Kings have retained aggressive batsman Irfan Khan Niazi and Qasim Akram, while South African spinner Tabriz Shamsi has been included in the supplementary category.
Lahore Qalandars
Lahore Qalandars have included fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, Afghanistan’s famous leg-spinner Rashid Khan and Fakhar Zaman in the platinum category, Qalandars have included Hussain Talat in their team using wild card.
Qalandar has selected Sikandar Raza and Liam Dawson in the gold category while Dilbar Hussain has been retained in the silver category while Ahmed Daniyal will also be seen playing for Qalandar.
In the emerging category, Lahore Qalandars have selected PJL discovery Chavez Irfan.
Qalandars have included wicketkeeper-batsman Jordan Cooks in the supplementary category.
Quetta Gladiators
Quetta Gladiators have added Sri Lankan bowler Vinindu Hasaranga to their team in platinum category while Naseem Shah and Mohammad Nawaz are also part of Gladiators.
Quetta has included West Indies’ Odin Smith in their team. Gladiators have selected Umeed Asif in Silver One category, tape ball cricketer Muhammad Zahid has been selected in Silver Two.
Gladiators have picked Abdul Wahid Bengalzai and Amil Khan in the Emerging category and Martin Guptill and Umeer Bin Yousaf have been selected in the Supplementary category.
Gladiators have selected opener Ehsan Ali in the gold category.
Multan Sultans
The Sultans selected David Miller to Platinum. Josh Little also became a part of the Sultans.
Multan Sultans have selected Akil Hussain of West Indian in the gold category, leg-spinner Osama Mir has been selected in the silver one category.
In the Silver Two category, Sultans have included wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan, Samin Gul will also represent Sultans, all-rounder Anwar Ali will play with Multan in the upcoming season, while earlier he was a part of Gladiators.
Sultans have included Mohammad Sarwar in their squad while Multan have selected leg-spinner Adil Rashid in the supplementary category.
Multan Sultans have included Southern Punjab middle order batsman Arafat Minhas in the final supplementary pick.
Peshawar Zalmi
Peshawar Zalmi has selected Sri Lanka’s Raja Pakse in the Platinum category, while United have selected West Indian all-rounder Romain Powell in the Platinum Two.
In the diamond category, Peshawar Zalmi has added Afghanistan’s Mujibur Rahman.
In the gold category, Zalmi has selected Danish Aziz, while in the silver category, Sam Ayub, leg-spinner Usman Qadir has been included.
Zalmi has made Sufyan Muqim a part of his squad. In the supplementary category, Zalmi has selected Kiwi all-rounder James Neesham while Haseebullah is also a part of Zalmi.
In the supplementary category, Zalmi has hinted at adding a young player leaving his turn.
Islamabad United
Islamabad United have selected Alex Hales in the Platinum Category Cap Hale Round, Afghanistan’s Rehmanullah Garbaz in the Platinum Two.
United have selected Fazal Farooqui in the diamond category.
In the Silver One category, United have selected mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed and in Silver Two, Sohaib Maqsood, United have retained Roman Raees in the squad.
Fast bowler Zeeshan Zameer will also represent United, Hasan Nawaz will also play for United, United has included Moin Ali and Mubbasir Khan in the supplementary category.
