An Israeli start-up developing civil electric flight devices says its prototype aircraft has successfully completed its first unmanned cruise flight and is on track to introduce manned aircraft in the next two years.
A Pardes Hanna-based start-up called AIR said it plans to deliver the first batch of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft by the end of 2024, after moving from hovering test flights to horizontal cruise testing. It was this week. It was conducted near Beersheba under the supervision of the Civil Aviation Authority.
The startup AIR ONE is an all-electric, two-seater eVTOL that flies at speeds of 155 miles (250 km) per hour, a range of 110 miles (177 km), and an altitude of 1,200 feet on a single charge. 1 hour time. The aircraft, which already has an airworthiness certificate, has folding wings for easy parking and can take off and land on any flat surface. It is tailored for personal use and is intended to provide an everyday alternative for short air commutes.
“It is thrilling to have reached this moment in our journey as we strive to build the foundation to make personal air mobility a reality,” said AIR CEO and co-founder Rani Plaut.
