ISLAMABAD: The federal government has increased the cost of electricity for agricultural consumers, the subsidy given under the Kisan package has been withdrawn on the terms of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the details, electricity was made expensive for the farmers on the condition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), under the Kisan package, a subsidy of Rs 3.60 per unit was given to agricultural consumers on electricity, which was withdrawn.

The federal government has increased the price of electricity for farmers by 3 rupees 60 paise per unit. Agricultural consumers will get electricity at Rs 16.60 per unit instead of Rs 13 from today.
After the cost of electricity, the federal government will get 14 billion rupees from agricultural consumers till June.
In this regard, the Power Division has written a letter to the electricity distribution companies including K Electric to implement the decision and a copy of the letter has also been sent to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Food Security.
