KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan says that the total government debt of the country has exceeded 54 trillion 94 billion, while only the external debt has reached 20 trillion 68 billion 30 crore rupees.
According to the details, the State Bank of Pakistan says that the total government debt in January 2023 was 54 trillion 94 billion 20 crore rupees.
Compared to December 2022, the total debt has increased by 7.7 percent, i.e. 3 trillion 94 billion rupees.

If compared to the previous year, from January 2022 till now, the total debt has increased by 29.6 percent.
The State Bank says that in January 2023, the external debt alone became 20 trillion 68 billion 30 crore rupees.
External debt increased by 38.1 percent compared to last January 2022 and 15.7 percent compared to December 2022.
