Islamabad: A formal reference has been filed in the Supreme Judicial Council against the senior judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faiz Isa.
The reference was filed under Article 209 (5) by the President of Gujranwala District Bar, Chaudhry Pervez Abid, seeking the removal of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa from office under Article 209.
President Gujranwala Bar said in the reference that Justice Qazi Faiz Isa was bound to express high character and thoughts, he continued to issue letters against institutions and personalities to the media, on April 10 he reached the Parliament, he expressed biased views. So he chose a political forum.
Gujranwala Bar said that Justice Qazi Faiz Isa condemned the Judiciary in the Parliament, he continued to criticize the state personalities to satisfy his ego, he was guilty of flouting the Code of Conduct for Judges, Supreme Judicial Council Constitution. Under Article 209 (8) they should be held accountable and removed from office immediately.
On behalf of President Gujranwala Bar, a copy of the reference was also sent to President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi.
