Karachi, the largest city and economic hub of Pakistan, has gained notoriety as one of the world’s most challenging cities to live in.
A British magazine recently designated Karachi, Pakistan’s largest metropolis, as one of the five least livable cities globally.
In the 2023 global ranking by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), Karachi holds the 169th position out of 173 cities, with only four cities deemed less livable than Karachi: Lagos, Al Jazeera, Tripoli, and Damascus.
The cities included in this list were evaluated based on criteria such as sustainability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.
Karachi’s position in the EIU Index for livability was 168th out of 172 cities in the 2022 release of the index, which occurred two months ago.
