New version 2.23.5.12 will have a feature where app users can see usernames instead of unknown phone numbers.
The app will also display the usernames of unknown numbers in groups on the chat list, wabetainfo reported.
This new feature will help users identify who is messaging someone in a group chat without opening the chat itself. Username can even appear elsewhere in the app instead of a phone number, and can even include a list of group participants.
