Akshay Kumar has announced to give up his citizenship

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, the superstar known as ‘Khilari’ in Bollywood, has announced to give up his Canadian citizenship.

Akshay Kumar needs no introduction. He gave dozens of hits to the industry but still people criticize his Canadian citizenship.

In a recent interview, Akshay Kumar said that I feel bad when people criticize my Canadian citizenship without knowing anything, India is everything to me, I earned my wealth and honor from here.

The superstar said that in 1990 my 15 films were flops after which I was quite disappointed, at that time my friend in Canada said to come and work here, and so I applied for citizenship in Canada.

During that time, fortunately, two of my films were successful. My friend advised me to stay in India and move on. I started getting more films, but because of work, I didn’t even remember that I had a Canadian passport.

The host asked him, “Are you giving up your Canadian citizenship now?” Akshay Kumar said in response, “Yes!” I am renouncing my citizenship and I have formally applied for it.
