According to the details, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 has occurred in the open sea of Aceh province, located in the north of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.
The magnitude of the earthquake is 6.2 on the Richter scale, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 48 kilometers in the city of Sangkal in Aceh province.
The French news agency said with reference to the American Geological Survey that earthquake shocks were felt on the Indonesian island of Sumatra at 6:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
According to the announcement of the American Geological Survey Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was 40 km southeast of Aceh at a depth of 37 km underground.
According to the report, the Indonesian Meteorological Department has not issued a tsunami warning after the said earthquake.
Apart from this, no loss of life or property has been reported from the earthquake yet. It should be noted that 602 people were killed by a 5.6-magnitude earthquake in the Indonesian province of Java on November 21.
Recall that one of the deadliest earthquakes occurred on the island of Sumatra on December 26, 2004, which triggered a tsunami in the Indian Ocean that killed more than 230,000 people, including victims as far away as Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand.
