The Ministry says that 377 mineral mines have been recorded in Saudi Arabia till the end of last year on an area of more than 44 thousand square kilometers.
The ministry says Makkah has the largest number of mines at 76, followed by Riyadh with 60 mines.
53 mines in Madinah while the lowest number of mines with 4 are in Northern Region.
The ministry says that more than 20 different types of minerals have been recorded in the kingdom, among them iron, gold, copper, granite and marble.
