Green Line bus crashes in Karachi to rescue wandering child

In Karachi, a Green Line bus was damaged on Friday after it rammed into a sidewalk to rescue a child lost on the railway tracks.

A bus rescuing a child was hit by a radiator grill in an accident in Chourangi, Karachi. The front of the bus was completely crushed and several passengers jumped out of the bus windows, rescuers on the scene said.

The driver and several women on the bus were injured in the crash. It also disrupted traffic under the Nagan Chowrangi overpass.

Karachi’s Green Line bus project was announced in July 2014. On February 26, 2016, the cornerstone of the 17.8 km route from Surjani to Guru Mandir was laid. Each bus can carry 200 to 250 passengers.
