According to sources, Marvia Malik, Pakistan’s first transgender newscaster, was assassinated outside her residence in Lahore Cantonment area, in which she luckily escaped unhurt.
In her statement to the police, Marvia Malik said that she was being threatened after which she moved from Lahore to Islamabad and Multan but returned to Lahore a few days ago to undergo a surgery. I have been shot at on my way home from a pharmacy.
Marvia Malik said that I was being threatened over the phone for some time due to which she left her house in Lahore and moved to another city. After the incident, a case of murderous attack was registered against Marvia Malik.
It should be noted that she started her career as the first female news anchor on a private news channel on the occasion of Pakistan Day 5 years ago. Journalists and others on social networking sites congratulated Marvia and appreciated the initiative of the channel.
In the complaint of Marvia Malik, a case of firing has been registered against unknown accused, writing in the FIR that she had expressed her opinion on the Transgender Bill, due to which unknown persons are threatening to kill her.
In an interview, he said that there is nothing that transgender people cannot do. We are educated, we have degrees but no opportunities, no motivation but I would change all that.
Marvia said that when I wanted to make my mark in the society, my family members did not encourage me, but tortured me, but I did not obey anyone, then I was kicked out of the house, but I did not lose heart.
If a transgender child is thrown out of the house instead of being educated, he will beg, the government should legislate in this regard.
