In the election of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, a woman was elected as the secretary for the first time in the history of 150 years.
According to reports, Ishtiaq A Khan, the presidential candidate of the Hamid Khan Group, won the Lahore High Court Bar Annual Election. On the presidential seat, he got 7,293 votes while Lahrasab Gondal of Asma Jehangir group got 3,300 better votes.
Rabia Bajwa was declared the winner on the seat of Vice President by getting three thousand five hundred and ninety votes, while on the seat of Secretary Sabahat Rizvi got four thousand three hundred and ten votes and was elected as the secretary for the first time making the history of the High Court.
Shahrukh Shehbaz Waraich was declared the winner on the seat of Finance Secretary with 7,100 votes. A victory celebration was held on behalf of the winning candidates in the High Court premises. The supporters congratulated the candidates by shouting slogans and throwing flowers.
Fourteen candidates competed for four positions in the Lahore High Court Bar annual elections. Ten thousand five hundred voters exercised their right to vote.
