The company is offering 1,000 tokens for just $0.002, which is ten times cheaper than the company’s existing GPT-3.5 models.
The company says this model is not what Bing is using. It’s what Microsoft calls “the new state-of-the-art OpenAI broad language model.” And which is much faster and more accurate and more suitable than ChatGPT and GPT 3.5.
According to the company, it has access to this technology because of Microsoft’s large investment in OpenAI. Microsoft is also lending its technology to Bing, which cannot be accessed by ordinary developers.
The company has also announced a new API for its speech-to-text model ‘Whisper’. Available to developers, Whisper is a system that automatically recognizes voice, which can transcribe and translate any audio for $0.006 per minute.
The OpenAI company has also made some changes to the terms for its developers. This includes the stipulation that they will not use the data provided by the API to train their models without the express permission of their users.
