Karachi: A modification has been made to the designated polling location for the upcoming election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Shahr Quaid.
As per the latest information, the Election Commission has announced that the Arts Council Auditorium will now serve as the designated polling station for the upcoming election. Previously, the KMC Council Hall was designated for this purpose.
The decision to shift the polling station to the Arts Council Auditorium was made by the Election Commission due to the cyclone and heavy rainfall concerns. This change was deemed necessary to avoid any potential issues caused by stagnant rainwater near MA Jinnah Road and the KMC Building.
In addition, the Election Commission has also released the guidelines for the election of the mayor and deputy mayor. The voting process will commence at 9 am on June 15, with candidates and voters required to present themselves at the polling station. Voters must bring their National Identity Cards (NIC) for identification purposes. It is important to note that mobile phones are not permitted inside the polling station.
The election for the mayor and deputy mayor will be conducted through a show of hands at 10:30 am. The voting process will begin with the election of the mayor in the first phase. Voters will be directed to the designated section corresponding to their preferred candidates. The same procedure will be followed for the election of the deputy mayor.
