Large-scale operations against drugs in the country, 184 kg of drugs seized, 5 arrested

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is actively conducting large-scale operations against drug trafficking across the country, resulting in the seizure of 184 kg of drugs and the arrest of 5 individuals involved in various incidents.

According to AYY News, ANF is carrying out extensive operations against drug trafficking in different cities of Pakistan. These operations have led to the recovery of over 184 kg of drugs, and among the arrested individuals are 2 Afghan nationals.

As per the ANF spokesperson, the first operation involved the recovery of 22.8 kg of hashish from a vehicle near the Motorway Toll Plaza in Islamabad. The hashish was concealed inside a CNG cylinder installed in the vehicle. Subsequently, a resident of Peshawar was apprehended during this operation.

In another incident near Sing Jani Toll Plaza on GT Road, a significant amount of drugs was seized from a vehicle. Two kilograms of heroin and two kilograms of methamphetamine (ice) were found hidden in a concealed compartment beneath the vehicle’s bumper. Two Afghan nationals present in the vehicle were immediately apprehended.

Furthermore, during an operation on Hub River Road in Karachi, law enforcement authorities recovered 22 kg of hashish from a parcel being transported in a passenger bus. The parcel had been booked from Chaman to Karachi. Additionally, on Ring Road in Peshawar, a truck was intercepted, resulting in the seizure of 32.4 kg of hashish. The individual involved, a resident of Khyber, was arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs from Bara to Karachi. In a separate operation, 9 kg of hashish hidden in the Bara area of Khyber was also recovered.

A significant amount of narcotics was seized near Sianwali Interchange in Faisalabad. A total of 70.8 kg of hashish and 22.8 kg of opium were recovered from the vehicle. The smugglers had attempted to disguise their activities by attaching official number plates to the vehicle. The individual involved, a resident of Peshawar, was apprehended by the authorities.

ANF officials have initiated further investigations into the matter and have registered cases against all the accused under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
