The Meteorological Department has issued a warning about a potential heat wave in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

According to the forecast, there is a likelihood of a heat wave occurring in the region from June 20 to 24. Additionally, some areas may experience strong winds and rain during the afternoon and night.

The Meteorological Department has further stated that temperatures are expected to rise steadily from Tuesday in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to a post by the PDMA, there is a forecasted increase of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in daytime temperatures. The hot and dry weather conditions may pose a risk of heat strokes and put stress on water reservoirs. As a result, farmers are advised to manage water resources efficiently for crop cultivation.

The Director-General of PDMA has also directed the public to take necessary precautions when venturing out in the sunlight. It is recommended that the elderly and children avoid direct sunlight between 10 am and 5 pm. These measures are aimed at ensuring their well-being and preventing any potential heat-related issues.
