As per the latest reports from ARY News, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has apprehended seven highly dangerous terrorists associated with banned organizations. The arrests were made during operations carried out in various cities of Punjab, namely Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, and Gujranwala, based on undisclosed intelligence.
Alongside the arrests, a significant amount of incriminating evidence was seized, including explosive materials, detonators, firearms, mobile phones, and cash.
CTD officials have stated that the detained terrorists have links to Al-Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), for whom criminal cases have been registered. The investigation into their activities is currently underway.
Additionally, the CTD spokesperson revealed that a total of 139 combing operations were conducted in Punjab during the week, leading to the interrogation of 8,523 individuals. Among them, 18 suspects were apprehended as part of ongoing efforts to maintain security and combat terrorism.
