The iPhone announced the update

In response to concerns regarding radiation emissions, Apple is set to release an update for the iPhone 12 in France. This decision comes as regulatory authorities have raised alarms about the electromagnetic radiation levels emitted by the device.

France recently suspended sales of the iPhone 12, which was slated for release in 2020, after discovering that the model exceeded the permitted limits for electromagnetic wave emissions.

Digital Minister Jean-Noel Birot stated to news agency, “Apple has provided me with assurance that they will deploy an update for the iPhone 12 within the coming days.”

Both the company and Birot have emphasized that the radiation emitted does not pose any risk to public health.

In a statement, Apple clarified that the issue is linked to the particular testing procedures employed by French authorities and is not a safety issue. They also affirmed that the device adheres to global emissions regulations.

“We will be issuing a software update for users in France to align with the testing protocol employed by French regulators.”
