PM warns terrorists to surrender ‘unconditionally’ or face state’s wrath


In Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar issued a stern warning to terrorist groups on Monday, urging them to surrender unconditionally as the state would not engage in negotiations with them. Speaking during an interaction with the families of martyrs at the interior ministry, where he also launched the country’s new visa policy, PM Kakar emphasized that the state would not show leniency towards terrorists responsible for violence and the killing of innocent citizens.

He categorically stated that individuals would not be allowed to take the law into their own hands, reiterating that only the state had the legitimate right to employ armed power through its security forces. PM Kakar affirmed the unwavering stance of the state against terrorism, emphasizing the clarity of all state organs to persistently combat militancy.

The prime minister acknowledged the need to rectify any harm caused in the past due to leniency towards militants and emphasized that seeking forgiveness from the families of martyrs was essential for those denouncing terrorism. While acknowledging that the nation could not compensate those who lost their loved ones, he expressed the commitment to honor and acknowledge their invaluable sacrifices.

PM Kakar paid tribute to all martyrs, encompassing heroes from various segments of society, including police, politicians, journalists, soldiers, and even children. He emphasized the responsibility of society to honor martyrs with a distinguished status, noting that the reward for their souls rested with Allah Almighty.

Earlier, during the launch of the new visa policy, PM Kakar congratulated the ministry on achieving a “good milestone” and stressed the importance of rationalizing the visa policy to attract investment. The new policy includes the introduction of investor visas and a revision of the existing business visa category to facilitate investment. PM Kakar inaugurated a memorial gallery displaying pictures of martyrs and expressed gratitude to the caretaker government for recognizing the sacrifices of the martyred heroes.
