During the Supreme Court hearing on petitions challenging the trial of civilians in military courts, the Punjab government presented the information regarding the individuals apprehended in the incident that occurred on May 9. As reported by ARY News, a 7-member bench led by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial is overseeing the proceedings.

The court specifically asked about the number of individuals arrested in relation to the May 9 incident, prompting the Advocate General of Punjab to provide the data, which indicated that a total of 6,088 individuals, including 81 women, were taken into custody.
According to the report presented by the Advocate General, the arrests made on May 9 under the Terrorism Act amounted to a total of 1,888 individuals. Among them, 108 accused are currently under physical remand, while 1,247 are on judicial remand. Additionally, 33 individuals have been identified and arrested, and 500 people have been apprehended. Furthermore, 232 individuals have been released on bail under the Terrorism Act. As for the cases registered against the accused involved in the May 9 incidents, a total of 51 cases have been filed under the Terrorism Act.
The report also reveals that there are 247 cases registered under other laws related to the suspects involved in the May 9 incidents. In these cases, a total of 4,119 individuals have been arrested. Among the arrestees, 86 individuals are under physical remand, while 2,464 have been placed on judicial remand. Additionally, 368 persons were presented before the court. Out of this group, 1,201 individuals have been acquitted, and 3,012 people have been released on bail in various cases.
As per the data provided by the Punjab government, a total of 81 women were arrested in relation to the May 9 incidents. Out of these, 42 women have been released on bail, while the remaining 39 women are presently in jails under judicial remand.
The report further reveals that a total of 3,050 individuals were identified as being involved in the vandalism that took place on May 9. Under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), 2,258 arrest warrants were issued. Currently, 21 individuals are incarcerated in jails under the provisions of the MPO.
