Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has announced a revised social profession permit fee of 400 riyals.
As per the latest information, the Ministry of Manpower and Social Welfare has stated that the new law sets the social profession permit fee at 400 riyals. Additionally, individuals applying for the social profession permit must meet the educational qualifications specified for their chosen social profession and pass a written examination, which incurs a fee of 150 riyals. Furthermore, an interview fee of 100 riyals will also be applicable.
The fee structure for the permit includes 150 riyals for issuing a permit, 150 riyals for extending a permit, and 300 riyals for extending an overdue permit.
According to Akaz newspaper, the term “social profession” encompasses psychologists, mental therapists, and social affairs guides. In Saudi Arabia, the average salary of a social worker ranges from 10,700 riyals to 36,100 riyals, with an average salary of 22,800 riyals.
The Ministry of Social Welfare has stated that the objective behind implementing the new law for social professions is to enhance their quality and align them with modern standards.
