ISLAMABAD: Dr. Bakhtawar Khalid Kayani is set to make history as the first visually impaired woman archer to proudly carry the Pakistan flag at the World Games 2023, commencing on August 24 at the University of Birmingham arena.
In a country where archery is still establishing its roots, Dr. Bakhtawar’s remarkable achievement in the realm of blind archery stands out as a rare accomplishment. Meanwhile, in the men’s category, Mohammad Tanvir, currently ranked second globally, is expected to depart for the UK once his visa is secured by Monday, according to Zulfikar Butt, Secretary of the Pakistan Archery Federation.
