The Election Commission has instructed the officers to prepare for the general elections.

Islamabad: Following the announcement of elections in the last week of January 2024 by the Election Commission of Pakistan, officers have now been instructed to make preparations for it.

In a letter sent to all four provincial chief secretaries and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, the Election Commission has directed that preparations for general elections be made nationwide.

The letter states that all administrative officers are bound to assist the Election Commission, with chief secretaries providing support in election preparations, and deputy commissioners receiving instructions to liaise with district election commissions.

The Election Commission has issued instructions that administrative and logistic support should be provided throughout the country, and secure locations should be made available for storing materials.

The letter also emphasizes ensuring the security of provided tablets for returning officers and ensuring the best security for the locations where materials are kept.

Previously, the Election Commission had announced the holding of general elections in the last week of January 2024, stating that the election schedule would be released soon.

The issued announcements stated that the initial constituency lists would be published on September 27, while the final lists would be released on November 30, with elections taking place in the last week of January, 54 days after the final lists are published.
