According to ARY News, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, addressing the Council of Foreign Relations, stated that a stable and democratic Pakistan is our priority. The Pakistan-U.S. relations have spanned several decades and will continue to flourish. Last year, Pakistan’s exports to the United States reached up to $8.4 billion.
He mentioned that the United States and Pakistan share common destinies, and the two nations have longstanding relations of 76 years. The deep-rooted, enduring relationship with the United States is being viewed with enthusiasm in the context of a strong foundation and long-term ties.

Addressing the Council of Foreign Relations, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized that the interim government in Pakistan holds a constitutional status until the elected government takes office. The interim government has a mandate to conduct free and impartial elections. The Election Commission announces the dates and schedule of elections, and according to the Election Commission, the upcoming general elections will be held in January.
He remarked that it is evident how some extremist elements in India are politicizing the policy of Hindutva, which is inspired by Nazi ideology. Under this policy, minorities, particularly in India, are targeted, posing a threat to the entire region.
Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar stated that the assassination of Sikh leaders in Canada is also a reflection of the influence of the Hindutva policy. In every civilized society, diversity of opinion is a fundamental element, and a policy like Hindutva cannot be practical in any civilized society.
Regarding Afghanistan, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar mentioned that there is a space for cooperation with the current Afghan government on some issues. The growing terrorism of proscribed TTP and ISIS poses a global security threat, and the presence of a significant military force in Afghanistan has been ongoing for decades, including the United States.
He said that the world’s major military powers, including the United States, have remained present in Afghan territory for twenty years. On a daily basis, our brave soldiers and civilians in Pakistan are still being targeted by terrorism.
Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed the desire for lasting peace in Afghanistan, stressing that if stability is not achieved in Afghanistan, it becomes a challenge for neighboring countries and global security. Our national poet, Allama Iqbal, had designated Afghanistan as the heart of Asia.
