Approximately 400 monkeys were seized at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
Customs officials at France’s largest airport reported that they seized nearly 400 monkeys over the past seven months, from May to December 2022.

Customs agents at the French seat of government’s main airport stated that they intercepted 392 packages during this period, which primarily contained primates. Most of the monkeys were from Cameroon and were destined for recipients in the United States.
In addition to animal skulls and bones, customs also confiscated numerous packages containing hundreds of more items.
According to reports, the monkeys were likely intended for collectors and hunting clubs in the United States, where monkeys are sometimes offered as gifts or rewards.
