PTI’s Rubina Jameel Sent on Judicial Remand in May 9 Riots Cases

LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday approved the judicial remand of PTI’s Rubina Jameel in the case related to the arson of police vehicles on May 09, News reported on Tuesday.

According to the details, ATC conducted the hearing related to the May 09 riots and vandalism, including the arson of police vehicles, and sent former MNA Rubina Jameel to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

The ATC directed the relevant authorities to produce the accused before the court on November 07.

Earlier to this, the suspects of the May 9 riots moved the Supreme Court to proceed with the trial in Military courts.

As per details, the plea was filed by nine suspects of May 9 violence who are still in military custody urging the top court that they should be tried in military courts.

The plea stated that they have not faced any torture in military custody and they are also satisfied with the treatment given to them by military authorities.

Hereby, they have complete confidence that justice will be served to them by the military courts.

Moreover, the May 9 suspects pleaded Supreme Court to make them party in cases related to military courts.

PTI’s Rubina Jameel has been sent on judicial remand in the May 9 riots case, specifically for the arson of police vehicles. The Anti-Terrorism Court approved a 14-day remand and directed the authorities to produce the accused in court on November 7. Some suspects in the riots have also requested to be tried in military courts.
