Pakistan’s Election Commission Sets October 25, 2023, Deadline for Voter Registration and Verification

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that October 25, 2023, is the last date for the registration of vote, as well as the transfer, correction, and discharge of vote. Pakistani citizens who are 18 years or above can verify their vote by sending their CNIC number to the 8300 helpline. 

The ECP emphasizes that all citizens, including women, minorities, handicapped individuals, and transgender persons, should ensure their registration as voters. Any incorrect registration or mistakes should be rectified at the district election commission office. After October 25, there will be no more registration or transfer of votes. Forms for voter registration or transfer are available on the election commission’s website, and can be submitted with a signature and thumb impression at the district election commission office. Only votes with a permanent or temporary residential address provided in the identity card will be registered.
