Pakistan Urges ‘Israel Backers’ to Help End Genocide of Palestinians

Pakistan on Friday called on the ‘backers of Israel’ to intervene and put a stop to the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. The Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson, Mumtaz Zehra Baloch, stated during a weekly press briefing that Israel, as an occupying power, should abide by the Fourth Geneva Convention and immediately halt the massacre in Gaza. Pakistan expressed deep concern over the heinous crimes being committed against the Palestinian people, as Israeli forces continue their campaign of terror and brutality in Gaza. The people of Gaza have been enduring extreme collective punishment for over a month. Israel’s relentless bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip has resulted in the destruction of entire city blocks and the deaths of thousands, primarily women and children. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that more than 10,800 people, including over 4,200 children, have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7. Baloch strongly condemned the Israeli forces’ crimes against humanity, including indiscriminate killings, denial of basic necessities, and the use of prohibited phosphorus bombs. She stressed the urgent need for the United Nations Security Council to uphold peace and immediately call for a ceasefire, lifting of the siege, and the rapid, unhindered provision of humanitarian assistance. Pakistan also expressed support for the Extraordinary Islamic Summit taking place on November 11th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The summit aims to address the Israeli attacks on Gaza and the resulting humanitarian crisis. Pakistan pledged to continue its efforts to end Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and provide relief assistance to the people of Gaza. Finally, Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), emphasizing that India must fulfill its international obligations, respect the rights of Kashmiri people, and allow them the right to self-determination. Pakistan will continue to extend political, diplomatic, and moral support for the peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolutions.
