The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) is set to review Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi’s response to a complaint filed against him on November 20. Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will preside over the SJC meeting at the Supreme Court building.
During the meeting, the complaints against Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi and Justice Sardar Tariq will be discussed. Additionally, the response of Justice Mazahir Ali Naqvi to a showcase notice issued by the council will also be reviewed.
The complaint against Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, filed by Mian Dawood Advocate, alleges misconduct, illegal assets, and amassing money with frontmen. The complainant has requested the judicial council to remove Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi from his position at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
In April, Justice Isa and Justice Masood sent a judicial letter to then Chief Justice Bandial, urging a SJC meeting to address these allegations. In May, the matter was referred to Justice Tariq Masood for a legal opinion.
