Islamabad: Federal Minister Khurram Dastgir has announced that no more gas-powered power plants will be installed in Pakistan.
According to the details, Federal Minister Khurram Dastgir while talking to the Reuters news agency said that there has been a huge shortage of natural gas in the country, and no more gas-powered power plants will be installed in Pakistan.

Khurram Dastgir said that the war between Russia and Ukraine has made the cost of LNG unaffordable, so Pakistan wants to quadruple its coal-fired power plant capacity.
The Federal Minister of Energy said that there is an intention to increase the power generation capacity from coal to 10 gigawatts from 2.3 gigawatts.
He further said that there is a plan to increase the power generation capacity through its solar, hydro and nuclear power, Pakistan is trying to reduce the cost of power generation.
