LONDON: Britain has imposed more export restrictions against Russia on the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Britain announced yesterday that it would impose sanctions on companies that supply Russia with military equipment, including aircraft parts, radio equipment and electronic weapons components.
Earlier last year, Britain froze the assets of Russian officials and companies in order to cripple the Russian economy and improve Russia’s military capabilities against Ukraine.
British officials have said they will target another 92 individuals and organizations, including allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a foreign news agency report.
Secretary of State James Cleverley said in a statement that, “Starting today, we are imposing sanctions on individuals and entities operating key Russian industries and banning the export to Russia of any item that Russia uses on the battlefield.”
