Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the change of date of election in Punjab in the Supreme Court and requested that the Election Commission be ordered to hold the election on April 30 as per the schedule.
According to the details, Tehreek-e-Insaf approached the Supreme Court against the decision of the Election Commission and PTI filed a joint constitutional petition in the court against the change of election date.
Speaker Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan Speaker KPK Assembly Mushtaq Ghani filed a constitutional petition, in which Asad Umar, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rashid and Abdul Rehman are also among the joint petitioners.
In the petition, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Law and the Cabinet have been made parties along with the Federation and KPK of Punjab.

In a joint petition, Tehreek-e-Insaf requested to annul the decision of the Election Commission and said that the Election Commission deviated from the constitutional mandate and the court’s decision.
The petition has requested that the Election Commission be ordered to hold the election on April 30 as per the schedule.
It should be remembered that the elections of Punjab were postponed by the Election Commission of Pakistan and it was said that the elections will be held on October 8.
It should be noted that the court had ordered elections to be held on April 30 in Punjab and KP.
