The military junta government in Myanmar dissolved former Prime Minister Aung San Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy Party.
According to Myanmar’s state media, the decision was taken to dissolve the National League for Democracy after the military junta failed to re-register under new election laws.
State media said 63 parties had registered at the local or national level, with 40 automatically dissolved after failing to sign up by Tuesday’s deadline, according to state media.
