The petition related to contempt of court against the senior vice president and chief organizer of Muslim League (N) Maryam Nawaz Sharif was fixed for hearing.
According to media News, the hearing on the application against Maryam Nawaz will be held tomorrow (Monday) in the Lahore High Court. A two-member bench headed by Justice Baqir Najafi will conduct the hearing.
Petitioner Shahid Rana Advocate’s plea was dismissed by the Single Bench against which an appeal was filed.
It was argued in the petition that Maryam Nawaz made allegations against the judges of the High Court and was guilty of contempt of court.
Advocate Shahid Rana requested the Lahore High Court to take action against the Muslim League (N) leader.
Maryam Nawaz, while addressing the workers’ convention in Sargodha last month, strongly criticized the judges of the Supreme Court. He had said that in 2014, when Imran Khan’s dharna failed and then the lockdown failed, he adopted another method and picked up these judges from the judiciary.
He had shown some pictures on the screen in the convention and said that these were the faces who had conspired against Nawaz Sharif and that the group of five who are seen on the screen are responsible for the situation in Pakistan today.
