Equal in the eyes of Imran Khan, who left the party position and Tehreek-e-Insaf?

There is a growing concern about the status of individuals who have resigned from their party positions. Journalist Waqas Khan, writing for an online newspaper, has provided clarity on this matter.

Imran Khan

Currently, there are two categories of individuals departing from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. The first group consists of those who are leaving the party itself, while the second group includes those who are relinquishing their positions within the party. Notably, Pervaiz Khattak and Asad Umar are individuals who have stepped down from their positions but have not left the party. On the other hand, Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Ali Zaidi, Imran Ismail, and several others have chosen to leave the PTI altogether.

During a party meeting, Imran Khan explicitly stated that whether someone departs from the party or resigns from their position, he perceives both actions as equivalent.

As per Waqas Khan, a senior PTI official shared with V News on the condition of anonymity that an online meeting took place between the PTI leadership and Imran Khan. During this meeting, a question was raised about Asad Umar’s current position within the party.

Imran Khan responded unequivocally, stating that regardless of whether someone leaves the party or their position, he considers all individuals equal.

Furthermore, as reported by Waqas Khan, Imran Khan conveyed to the party leaders during the meeting that posts would only be granted to those who remain steadfast with the party and himself during challenging times. Under these circumstances, Imran Khan expressed that there is no distinction in his view between those who have left the party and those who have resigned from their positions.

As per the PTI leader, Imran Khan has expressed his admiration for the bravery displayed by individuals who continue to support the party during these challenging times. Furthermore, Imran Khan has stated that such individuals will be entrusted with significant responsibilities within the party and may be considered for election tickets in the future.

It is noteworthy that Asad Umar and Pervez Khattak have refrained from defending Imran Khan publicly since November and have not issued any statements in his favor. Similarly, Fawad Chaudhry has been avoiding defending Imran Khan before his departure from the Tehreek-e-Insaf.
