BREAKING: President Arif Alvi signed the summary and approved the appointments of Lieutenant General Asim Munir as the next chief of army staff and Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) on Thursday.
Today, the government announced that Lieutenant General Asim Munir was elected Pakistan’s army chief by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to replace General Qamar Javed Bajwa, ending ongoing speculation.
