Cricketers around the world are eager to play the richest cricket league Indian Premier League but England fast bowler Chris Woakes has refused to play IPL.
Chris Woakes, the famous fast bowler of the English team, has said in an interview given to ‘Cricinfo’ that he does not want to play IPL just for money, so he will not be a part of IPL next year.
Chris Woakes said that the decision not to play the IPL was not an easy one and somewhere in me there must be a desire to go to India because the IPL is a great tournament and financially beneficial too but only financially. Don’t want to decide to play IPL on base.
The English fast bowler said that he wants to play more Test cricket for England and his aim is to play the Ashes series against Australia. I want to tell and remind people that I can play red ball (Test) cricket and be part of the Ashes squad by focusing on fitness.
It should be noted that Chris Woakes has been a part of the IPL since 2017 and represented three different teams in the 2-year journey of the Indian Premier League.
Chris Woakes started his journey in IPL in 2017 with Kolkata Knight Riders team. In 2018 he became a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore while in 2021 he represented Delhi Capitals.
