A new selection panel headed by Haroon Rasheed has started deliberations for the Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan in Sharjah.
Several players including Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Ihsanullah and Osamamir are said to be under consideration due to their impressive performances in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Also, it is suggested to rest some senior players to give young cricketers a chance.

The selection committee should hold its regular meeting soon. Initially, options considered releasing a Squad of twenty to twenty-two players from which a sixteen-man squad would be selected. The final squad will be announced before the PSL Finals.
