The Federal Government has refused to issue NOCs to teams traveling to India for the ODI World Cup scheduled for October this year amid serious concerns over the safety of Pakistani cricketers.
The press understands from informed sources that the federal government has refused to allow teams to travel or finalize any plans for the World Cup.
The government has told the PCB that the visit and cricket of Pakistani cricketers in India is nothing less than a huge risk after the atrocities against Muslims in India and the hatred shown by Hindu extremists against citizens Muslims.
“We cannot allow cricketers to travel to India under the prevailing situation where Muslims are falling victim to atrocities at the hands of extremists in India. These extremists leave no stone unturned to preach hatred against Muslims. We have some serious security concerns and hence cannot allow our cricketers to travel to India,” a government official when contacted said.
It is worth mentioning here that India has also expressed concerns about its team’s visit to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, which the PCB plans to host in September 2023.
Expect things to get worse if India continue failing to travel to Pakistan for the Asian Cup. In this case, Pakistan will never allow its elite cricketers to embark on a journey to a country where extremism is at its peak, and even its central government is supposed to promote such anti-Muslim measures.
