Squad announced for Pak-Afghan T20 series, Shadab Khan appointed captain

Lahore: PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has said that all-rounder Shadab Khan will be the captain of the Pakistan team in the series against Afghanistan.

PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi said in a press conference in Lahore that senior players need to be rested for the Afghanistan series, it has been decided to give opportunity to young players.

He said that we will consider the series against Afghanistan as a training round, so after consulting with the selectors, we have decided to give opportunity to the young players. I have taken all the top players into confidence after which the selectors have made the team.

Chairman Najam Sethi said that I have spoken to Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen and Fakhar, their place in the team is fixed.

Najam Sethi said that Babar is our best captain, he remains the captain of the team, we will decide on his captaincy on the day he says, there is no danger to our senior players, their place is ready, new players will be tested.

Chairman PCB has announced that it has decided to make Shadab Khan the captain for the Pakistan-Afghan T20 series.

While announcing the national team, the chief selector said that Ehsanullah, Saeem Ayub, Tayyab Tahir and Zaman Khan will debut in the squad, besides Azam Khan, Abdullah Shafiq, Faheem Ashraf, Imad Wasim, Iftikhar Ahmed, Zaman Khan and Mohammad. Haris will be part of the squad.

Apart from this, Abrar Ahmed, Haseebullah and Osama Mir are among the reserve players in the 15-member squad.

It should be noted that Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan and fast bowler Haris Rauf have been rested in the Pak-Afghan series.
