First eliminator: Zalmi target of 184 runs for United to win

Lahore: Thanks to captain Babar Azam’s excellent half-century and Haris’ aggressive batting, Peshawar Zalmi has given Islamabad United a target of 184 runs to win in the first eliminator of HBL PSL 8.

According to details, in the first eliminator being played at Gaddafi Stadium, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan won the toss and invited Peshawar Zalmi to bat.

Peshawar Zalmi scored 183 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs, captain Babar Azam played a brilliant innings of 64 runs off 39 balls, 10 fours were also included in Babar’s innings.

Muhammad Haris played an impressive innings of 34 runs off 17 balls, Saim Ayub scored 23 runs.

On behalf of United, captain Shadab Khan dismissed two players, Wasim Jr., Fazal Farooqui, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali took one wicket each.

Earlier, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan had won the toss and invited Zalmi to bat first. Shadab said that he decided to bowl first after seeing the pitch.

Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam said that if I had won the toss, I would have batted first.

It should be noted that the team that loses today’s match will end their journey in PSL 8 while the winning team will face Lahore Qalandars in the second eliminator.
