According to Qatari officials, Metzger could select the offender’s punishment. Metzger revealed to the publication that she was astonished by the response she received when she filed a complaint at a nearby police station immediately following the incident.
She told Todo Noticias (TN) that she was surprised to learn that she could choose the alleged thief’s punishment.
“I had my small bag on me with all the things that one needs, my wallet, the keys to our hotel room, some napkins,” she told a TN news anchor.
