The BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced on Sunday that the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest number of spectators attending the 2022 IPL final.
Motera Stadium, formerly known as the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) Stadium, has a capacity of 110,000, nearly 10,000 more than the official capacity of 100,024 at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
“Incredibly pleased and glad to get the Guinness World Record for the biggest participation at a T20 match when 101,566 individuals saw the legendary IPL last at @GCAMotera’s eminent Narendra Modi Arena on 29 May 2022.Thanks so much to our fans for making this possible,” Shah wrote on Twitter.
