Pakistan to carry out special audit of govt departments
The Pakistan government plans to conduct special audits on various departments to enhance performance and transparency in order to meet IMF demands. The audit will cover state-owned companies such as Sui Southern Gas Company, HESCO, PESCO, and others. New taxes on textiles and sugar are expected to address tax collection shortfalls.
