PPP will not contact PTI-backed independent candidates, says Khursheed Shah

PPP leader Khursheed Shah stated that the party will not engage with PTI-supported independent candidates to increase National Assembly strength, preferring to only contact independent candidates. Elections 2024: Party position in provincial assemblies

The Election Commission of Pakistan announced almost complete results of the 2024 General Elections for the National and provincial assemblies. In the Punjab Assembly, PML-N secured 137 seats. PPP dominated in Sindh with 84 seats. PTI-backed independents won 83 seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In Balochistan, PPP and JUI-F tied with 11 seats each.

ECP notifies victory of PML-N candidates from Islamabad NA seats

Anjum Aqeel, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Raja Khurram Nawaz were declared winners. Results of 10 National Assembly seats and 16 provincial assemblies’ seats have been challenged and withheld.

PTI independents in Karachi challenge election results

PTI-supported runner-up candidates in Karachi have filed petitions challenging election results in Sindh High Court, claiming discrepancies in Form 45 and seeking suspension of winning candidates' notifications. Salman Akram Raja moves LHC against election results

Women voters prohibited to cast vote in Swabi, Talagang areas

In Swabi's NA-20 village, women voters are barred from casting their votes, with around 6,000 women in Adeena village unable to exercise their voting rights. Additionally, in Talagang district of Punjab's NA-59, 3,101 women voters were absent from polling stations, indicating a significant absence of female voters.

ECP extends voting time in THESE constituencies

ECP has extended voting time in NA-63 Gujrat and PP-28 Gujrat due to delays in the voting process. The commission stated that there is no plan to extend polling time in the ongoing general elections.
