PTI’s Sheikh Waqas Akram gets transit bail from PHC

PTI's Sheikh Waqas Akram received transit bail from Peshawar High Court in two cases. He was instructed to provide a surety bond and approach the respective court within 20 days. Waqas Akram, supported by PTI, won the NA-109 constituency election with a 52.00% voter turnout, defeating PML-N candidate Mohammad Yaqoob Sheikh.

PTI’s Shibli Faraz gets protective bail from PHC

PTI leader Shibli Faraz received protective bail from Peshawar High Court. The court prohibited his arrest and scheduled a hearing for February 26. Additionally, PTI candidate for Chief Minister Punjab Mian Aslam Iqbal was granted bail. PTI founder Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also received bail in a separate case.

PTI’s contempt plea on level playing field fixed for hearing

The Supreme Court has fixed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's contempt plea on the level playing field for hearing on January 3. PTI filed the plea over non-implementation of SC orders for a level playing field in the 2024 general elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan has been directed to address PTI's complaints for fair elections.

PTI’s leader Sher Afzal Marwat reportedly arrested from outside LHC premises

In Lahore, Sher Afzal Marwat, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has reportedly been apprehended outside the Lahore High Court (LHC). Marwat, the senior vice president of the party, was taken into custody by a substantial police presence as he was leaving the high court premises after participating in a lawyers’ convention. According to reports, he is currently being transported to the Mozang police station.

LHC seeks responses on PTI`s plea against appointment of election officials

In response to a plea by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed authorities to submit their responses by December 12 regarding the challenge to the appointment procedure of Punjab's bureaucrats for election duty. PTI's additional secretary general, Umair Khan Niazi, urged the court to declare sections 50(1)(b) and 51(1) of the Elections Act 2017 as illegal and unconstitutional, raising concerns about the fairness of the upcoming general elections.
