Woman paralyzed after eating ‘toxic soup’

A US Colorado woman, Claudia de Albuquerque Celada, became paralyzed after eating toxic soup contaminated with the bacteria C. botulinum. Within 24 hours, she experienced dizziness, double vision, and difficulty breathing, leading to full body paralysis and ventilator dependence. The incident resulted in a suspected case of foodborne botulism, with similar cases reported in Colorado and Arizona.
