NASA’s historic mission to the moon, Artemis One, is now returning to Earth, but before its return, the Orion spacecraft has surprised everyone by taking another surprising selfie.
In this selfie the Orion spacecraft is behind the moon and the distant Earth looks like the moon, the red spot in the selfie is not Mars but a lens flare or optical illusion.
The image is strikingly similar to the poster for the science fiction film Apollo 13, the 1995 blockbuster starring Tom Hanks and based on the 1970 mission to the moon that crashed.
The Artemis One mission was launched in November 2022 by the largest Space Launch System rocket in NASA’s history. During its mission, the Orion spacecraft took several stunning images.
After Artemis One, the Artemis mission will send humans into space and is expected in two years, but this mission will not land on the Moon.
In addition, Artemis 3 will be the mission that will send astronauts to the Moon in 2025 and will land on the South Pole there.
